Look closely at these 2 statues of Ramses II from Abu Simbel temple of TaMeri/TaNehesi ('ancient Egypt' & 'Nubia'). These giant statues breathtakingly capture Ramses seated in a meditative mode, conveying to the viewer a deep sense of sacredness and presence. To behold such a sight also reminds the viewer to participate in this same endeavor, which is the central theme throughout all the nations of the ancient Nile Valley. M' Khenu is the indigenous name that was given to the teachings in the temples along the ancient Nile Valley. These teachings were also known by the names of: The Asarica, The Craft (not to be confused with the Wiccan or Freemason Craft), and The Work. The masses along the ancient Nile were involved in many different beliefs and religions, but to the FEW in the temple educational system, were always taught the same PRACTICAL methods of "inner work"/self development similar to today's meditation, yoga, tantra, tai chi, qi gong, mudras and sacred dances/movements/postures to name a few throughout TaMeri's (ancient Egypt) 4,000 year known history. These temples were also located in Sudan, Ethiopia, Somalia and Uganda, in fact, the teachings are from these regions, predating ancient Egypt, which was the ZENITH of these previous cultures. What is not well known, is that after the Greek invasion of Egypt (around 333 B.C.), the teachings went "underground" & are STILL in existence today, carried on in lineage by the indigenous Africans along the Nile Valley through oral tradition. To paraphrase
a fellow
seeker: The basic idea of these teachings is that man/woman as we know
them are NOT completed beings; that nature develops them only up to a
certain
point then leaves them to : (2) live and die such as
they
were
born. As an active
practitioner
of these teachings, my aim is to make available to those serious
seekers
in the USA, the methods of M' Khenu. Until about 50 years ago, these
teachings
were offered only to indigenous Africans and only to those Africans who
lived on the continent. Working out of the M' Khenu temple in New York
City, the methods of these teachings are offered to aspirants of every
racial and ethnic background. There is also a daily chat room on AOL,
that
while acting as an online introduction to the teachings, serves as a
"think-tank"
for many other spiritual/religious paths. Below is a list of suggested reading and viewing material to become more acquainted with these specific teachings: (1) "The Opening Of The Way"; "Herbak
Egyptian Initiate"- both by Isha Schwaller De Lubicz. Two wonderful
ways
to become informed about the aim and some methods of these teachings.
Highly
recommended as the finest representation by an "outsider".
(2) "Black Man Of The Nile
And His
Family"Dr. Yosef ben-Jochannan. A must have if you can find it. This
book
is usually banned in non-Black bookstores. Its contents undeniably
documents
the indigenous African presence in "ancient Egypt" and her neighbors,
while
also going into great detail about the teachings. "Dr. Ben" (as
he
is affectionately known) is a representative of these teachings, as
well
as being one of the world's most respected authorities on ancient Egypt.
(3) "Serpent In The Sky"-
John A.
West. Another must have. West does an excellent job compiling the
research/documentation
from both R.A. and Isha Schwaller De Lubicz. He also demonstrates how
the
practical wisdom of these teachings by the ancients along the Nile
remains
unsurpassed to this day. The De Lubicz' daughter Lucy Lamay used to
recommend
this book in her lectures. (4) "The Sun Cult Texts"- Mariam Litchner. This 3 volume work is actually mis-named. It should be called "The Sun Cult SONGS", since the texts are really songs and hymns by one of the greatest visionaries/musicians to have walked this planet, Akhenaton. The translation leaves a little to be desired, but the work does give an in-depth study of the relation of sound, rhythm and word-play to these teachings. (5) "In Search Of The Miraculous"-P.D. Ouspensky. A definitive look into the "inner work" methods of George Gurdjieff by one of his most faithful students. It also gives a detailed look into many of the methods in M' Khenu, since Gurdjieff's methods are largely based on these teachings. In my opinion, it is these teachings ALONE that explains why the teachings of Gurdjieff and R.A. Schwaller De Lubicz are so closely related when the two never met. (6) "Sacred Science"- R.A. Schwaller De Lubicz. A documentation showing how the sciences, including art, numbers and architecture combined cohesively to aid in the process of self-transformation among the ancient Egyptian sages. (7) "Gurdjieff in Egypt" (part 1) Patrick Patterson. This is actually a video that documents and tracks Gurdjieff's travels in Egypt. In the process, Patterson (who is a teacher of the Gurdjieff methods), expounds on the symbolic wisdom of many of the sacred sites in Egypt connected with the M' Khenu teachings. Not only do I highly recommend this video, but I also suggest that you subscribe to Patterson's newsletter TELOS, which explores Gurdijeiff's 4th Way teaching relating to transformation in ordinary life. |
